Baker/ Bakery Production

BakerGreat Western Dining at our Garden City Community College in Garden City, KS location is looking for a skilled and passionate Baker to prepare a wide range of baked goods including breads, pastries, cookies, and specialty items. The ideal candidate will have experience in baking techniques, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and cleanliness. This role requires early morning shifts and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:Responsible for producing standard baked goods such as cakes, cookies, biscuits, muffins and various types of puddingsAssist in developing new recipes and menu items when applicable.Unload, clean and operate mixersMaintains all daily production, sanitation sheets and applicable forms to ensure all procedures are metAssists with cleaning the kitchen and maintaining a sanitary work areaMeet or exceed all established HACCP sanitation and safety standardsWork collaboratively with other kitchen or bakery staff to meet production deadlines.Other duties as required & assignedSkills and Qualifications:One to two years as a baker or a bakery background preferred.High school diploma or equivalent; formal culinary or baking training preferred.Must be customer service oriented and enjoy working in a student-oriented environment.Experienced in production line baking or food processing.Must be knowledgeable about proper food handling and safety guidelines.Must be detail oriented with the ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow directions for equipment and recipe production.We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from all qualified individuals.Continuous walking and other means of mobilityMove, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 75 pounds without assistance.
