Facility: Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown

Department: Observation

Schedule: Night shift l Full-time

What You Will Do

Provides comprehensive nursing care to a diverse adult patient population requiring observation

Performs ongoing assessments, cardiac and neurological monitoring, and timely interventions to ensure early detection of patient status changes.

Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate diagnostic testing, treatment plans, and safe, efficient patient throughput.

Educates patients and families on disease processes, medications, and discharge instructions to support continuity of care and prevent readmissions.

What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

6 months of acute care nursing experience preferred

Must be willing to obtain the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Certification
