The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for the layout and installation of electrical systems and related equipment. Work must be completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with design specifications, building codes, and company standards. This role ensures quality workmanship, provides guidance to assigned trainees or apprentices, and contributes to efficient and safe completion of assigned projects.

Interpret plans, specifications, and work instructions to complete assigned installations or assemblies.

Installs electrical equipment (panels, lighting, generators etc.) conduit, wiring and assemblies.

Perform skilled tasks related to fabrication, layout, installation, repair, or maintenance of piping systems and equipment.

Work collaboratively with general contractors and other trades.

Provide instruction, training, and guidance to trainees or apprentices to promote safe work practices and skill development.

Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in an organized, safe, and serviceable condition.

Minimum of 5 years commercial electrical experience on Healthcare project.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project documents.

Strong understanding of Electrical systems and applicable codes.

Strong understanding of job site safety standards and commitment to following all company safety policies.

Knowledge of switchgear, panel, transformer, ATS and generator installation.

B&I Contractors, Inc., As such this role may contain certain PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) necessary and required in the performance of certain tasks. It is the responsibility of the incumbent in the role to ensure he/she has received all pertinent safety protective equipment and commits to use of same when performing in the role.

This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
