TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin.

UNIT: ONCOLOGY

MANAGER INTERVIEW

Primary Location: Aspirus Wausau Hospital - Oncology Care Unit
Unit Specific Skillset: MedSurg Oncology unit. Patient population mainly consists of surgical oncology and medical oncology patients. Very small population coming in to receive chemo treatments.
Unit Overview (Patient ratio, etc.): Patient ratio ranges from 4:1 or 5:1 on Days and PMs. Night shift is normally 5:1 but can get up to 7:1 (not common). Night shift will always have techs on. C.NAs are scheduled all shifts but may staff more RNs when C.NA not available.
Required Certifications: WI RN License and BLS. Chemo cert is required.
Minimum Experience: 2+ years. 1 YR on MSO Unit preferred. Oncology experience required.
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday
Float Requirements: Will float as needed to other areas and care for patients within scope, can float in 4 hour blocks and will float before staff RNs
On Call/Call Back Requirements: N/A. Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours - can be low censused in hour increments as needed. Unit will typically low census in 4 hr increments and could ask for a traveler to work only 4 or 8 hrs of the shift. This is not considered to be on call.
Charting Experience: Epic preferred. If no Epic experience, must have previous electronic charting experience.
Equipment used: Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, Alaris pumps

GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed.
During flu season, any traveler who declines flu and COVID vaccination is required to wear a mask at all times. This is an Aspirus policy, and compliance is mandatory (No exceptions). Failure to follow the policy may result in corrective action.
