Program Manager Overview

Oversees Human Services Department programs, ensuring effective service delivery and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Managing and overseeing the delivery of human services programs to ensure they are effective, efficient, and meet the needs of service populations.

Ensuring that all programs and services comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and standards.

Designing and developing new programs or modifying existing ones based on needs assessment and best practices.

Engaging in strategic planning activities to set program goals, objectives, and outcomes, and develop plans to achieve them.

Building and maintaining relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and service populations to foster collaboration and support for programs.

Organizing and coordinating monthly in-service training sessions for local professionals to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Identifying key training and professional development opportunities for department staff to ensure they remain current with best practices and regulatory changes.

Implementing quality assurance measures to ensure that programs meet established standards and deliver high-quality services to clients.

Advocating for clients by addressing systematic barriers to service and working to improve access and equity in service delivery.

Collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Typical Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Community Development, or related field; Master’s preferred.

Minimum five (5) years’ experience in human services, including case management, advocacy, crisis intervention, community outreach, healthcare navigation, or related fields.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local human services regulations.

Supervisory experience preferred.

Bi-lingual preferred.

Special Certifications & Licenses

Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.

Supplemental Information

All applicants selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
