Head of Programme Management

The Program Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of all Epilepsy Support Network of Orange County (ESNOC) educational programs and outreach initiatives. This role ensures the effective delivery of services that promote understanding, awareness, and support for individuals and families affected by epilepsy throughout Orange County.
The ideal candidate for this full-time position requires a friendly, warm, confident, experienced and highly motivated individual to promote the objectives of Epilepsy Support Network of Orange County. Our passionate team is dedicated to making a meaningful difference for families affected by epilepsy. The Program Manager will:

• Provide education, support, and resources to individuals affected by epilepsy and their families. ● Oversee intake and referral services, connecting individuals to appropriate epilepsy care and treatments to improve the life of those affected by epilepsy and their families.
• Lead outreach and awareness efforts to reduce stigma, discrimination, and inequities related to epilepsy. ● Support individuals with epilepsy in achieving full participation in their communities through education and advocacy.

Increase understanding of epilepsy and the needs of individuals and affected families ● Promote early recognition, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of epilepsy
• Increase individual and public understanding about the needs of individuals with epilepsy and their families • Promote equity and inclusion for individuals with epilepsy
● Strengthen social skills, confidence, and self-esteem among children, teens, and young adults with epilepsy • Increase awareness of the legal rights of persons with epilepsy

Programming- 60%
Maintain and expand epilepsy education and support programs in Orange County

• Program Night and Epilepsy Expert Series (Second Friday evening of each month)
• Epilepsy 101 Presentations
• Seizure Recognition and First Aid Presentations for public and private establishments (including reaching out to and scheduling)
• Awareness building presentation to change hearts and minds about the perception of epilepsy

Intake and Referral-coordination of support services for families affected by epilepsy through the development and maintenance of a strong parent/family network which includes educational/emotional support facilitation
Manage budgets for programs and services
review evaluations, program reports, surveys, statistics, outcome expectations and develop strategies for program improvement,
Supervision of Program Staff, Interns and Volunteers

Outreach – 30%
Identification, development and delivery of public outreach opportunities and programs to increase support and interest in the ESNOC’s mission, goals and programs;

• Health/Resource Fairs and Community Events
• Provision of referrals, resources and advocacy services for those affected by epilepsy and their families; ● Access to Medical Specialists and developmental therapists/specialists
• Collaboration with Community Partners to coordinate educational and social events for our mutual population

Distribution of ESNOC program information to epilepsy centers, neurologists, service providers, school nurses, and other non-profit organizations
Help coordinate Epilepsy Walk Fundraising Event and attend required committee meetings 7. Performance of other duties as assigned

A successful Program Manager will be a highly motivated enthusiastic self-starter and quick learner who can listen to the needs of members with epilepsy in order to provide consumer-driven programs. (this needs to be fixed) Most importantly, a successful program coordinator will have an internal passion for helping those affected by epilepsy.

• Experience in educational programming, presentations and community outreach
• Proven ability in project planning/management and relationship building
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and handle multiple projects on various timelines ● Ability to effectively coordinate and oversee a variety of ESNOC programs involving diverse populations including individuals with: special needs, developmental/intellectual delay and differently-abled
• Maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with staff members, medical professionals, non-profit professionals, volunteers, donors, community members and community-based organizations and partners, ● Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite, experience with databases
• Demonstrated willingness to work in varying conditions that may include infrequent weekends/evening events ● Ability to maintain and organize information, documents and contact information using data bases ● Maintains professional behavior, dress and appearance at all times

● EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's Degree with course work in public health/administration/education
• Minimum of two years of experience in program management within a nonprofit organization ● Experience working with nonprofit organizations that serve individuals with special needs or disabilities. ● Special Events, Fundraising/Grant Committee- Identify grant opportunities, grant support, Identify third party fundraiser opportunities

This position is full-time with usual office hours of 9:00 AM to 5:30, with some evenings and weekends. The Second Friday evening of each month hours are 1:00 to 9:30pm required for program night
