Head of Engineering and Project Management

Job Overview Amentum is a global leader in advanced engineering and innovative solutions, supporting critical missions across defense, intelligence, energy, and civilian sectors. We are currently seeking a Project Scheduling Manager to support our project in Scoville, ID. The Project Scheduling Manager is a key player of the construction management team that is overseeing the Spent Fuel Handling Project at the Naval Reactors Facility on the Idaho National Lab property. This role will assist the Construction Manager and Project Controls Manager with the development of project plans, focus on reviewing the accuracy and validation of subcontract vendor schedules, and forecast analysis.

Responsibilities Review and maintain subcontractor schedules in Primavera P6.

Assist in the integration of subcontractor schedules into a master Integrated Construction Schedule.

Report and monitor progress on major construction project milestones.

Support the Project Controls Manager in reviewing multiple subcontractor schedules and tracking the status of work on a weekly basis.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports and other ad hoc reporting as requested by the Construction Manager and Project Controls Manager.

Support day‑to‑day administration of the project, including financial control, reporting, and monitoring.

Provide earned‑value progress and performance reporting for the project.

Provide variance analysis of schedule slip.

Maintain frequent contact with project management, project team members, field craft, and finance stakeholders.

Qualifications 5 or more years of work experience.

3+ years of experience on large‑scale heavy industrial projects.

Experience with Primavera P6 and administering project schedules.

Proof of U.S. citizenship to comply with government customer requirements.

Experience with MS Office Suite—Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to plan, organize, document, perform, review, and present multiple subprojects with minimum supervision.

Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the project team.

Excellent documentation skills and the ability to clearly articulate to others.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with ARES PRISM.

Experience with project accounting and cost estimating.

Experience with Deltek Acumen software.

Financial analysis experience.

Scheduling and modeling software experience.

Work Environment Office environment with occasional job‑site walk‑downs. May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals and industrial facilities. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.

Physical Requirements Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, and lift. Lifting requirements limited to 25 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for the same. Must be alert to hazards in the field.

Attendance Regular attendance mandatory (100%). Overtime/work outside normal schedule may be required (20%). Travel may be required ( Other Essential Information Valid driver’s license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employees or others.

Compensation $170,000 – $190,000. The compensation range listed for this position is provided as a good‑faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
