Missouri Baptist Medical Center , an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children's Hospital.

News & World Report ranked the hospital #2 in the St. The registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) works within the interprofessional team and with the patient and family providing medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to patients with complex/multiple metabolic diagnosis and diseases. This dietitian not only integrates standards into daily practice but also serves as a role model to his/her colleagues. Includes responsibilities of RD I and II plus considers and evaluates medications that may alter nutrition status and evaluates outcomes of those receiving nutrition support therapy. Includes responsibilities of RD I and II plus integrates interdisciplinary input and refines prescribed nutrition intervention/plan of care, analyzes outcome measures to assess overall effectiveness of nutrition intervention/plan of care.
Integrates into practice knowledge of the research associated with the science, physiology, and pathophysiology of complex disease processes, and utilizes this knowledge when recommending and providing nutrition support therapy.
