Description
The position of Social Media Content Creator is to create, publish, and manage content across all social media channels for Spartan Education Group and reports to the Content Director. In this role, you will capture, produce, and edit photo and short-form video content (from campus events to everyday student life) and manage the planning, scheduling, and publishing of posts across all platforms. You will collaborate with the video editor, graphic designer, and campus staff to develop compelling stories and social-first content, while tracking performance and staying ahead of platform and algorithm changes. The ability to independently seek out and generate content, as well as work collaboratively across teams, is critical to success in this role. We work in a fast-paced market that occasionally requires irregular work hours and quick turnarounds, so flexibility is essential.
Essential Functions

Shoot and edit photo and short-form video content, including on-the-spot capture at campus events and everyday student life
Produce polished, social-first video formatted for each platform (Reels, TikTok, Shorts)
Create, plan, schedule, and publish posts and content across all social media platforms
Write engaging, on-brand copy and captions for all content
Coordinate with campus staff to ensure timely capture and posting of news, events, and student happenings
Propose video concepts or graphic concepts that are built specifically for social-first performance, and collaborate on larger projects
Monitor and respond to messages, posts, and comments across social media platforms daily
Track and measure social media performance and KPIs, and deliver regular reporting to the Content Director
Update and audit media calendars
Use social marketing management tools such as HubSpot and Loomly
Stay up to date with the latest social marketing practices, algorithm changes, and platform trends, and adjust strategy accordingly
Knowledge / Skills

Hands-on skill shooting and editing short-form, social-first video (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Rush, InShot, Adobe Premiere).
Excellent knowledge of social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Snapchat, with the ability to adapt to trending platforms.
Strong eye for visual storytelling and what performs on each platform.
Exceptional skill with the nuances of social media writing, including hashtags, emojis, and platform-native voice.
Understanding of social media and web traffic metrics, with the ability to translate data into content decisions.
Ability to create and implement content with a high degree of accuracy and within compliance guidelines.
Knowledge of advanced video editing software such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects is desired but not required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
Excellent time management, attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience

High School Diploma or GED required
Associate's degree (or higher) in relevant field required
One to three (1–3) years of social media content creation experience for a business or organization required
Demonstrated experience shooting and editing short-form social video required
Social media portfolio required, including video work
Experience with a social media management tool such as Loomly, Hootsuite, or Sprout preferred
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, camera equipment, and mobile devices. Close vision for reviewing photo/video content, editing on screens, and proofreading texts. Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and on video for interviews, and staff coordination. Ability to move around campus or event spaces to capture content, which may include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs, or brief exposure to outdoor conditions. Frequent travel may be required to surrounding campuses, minimal travel required to off-site events.
