Mechanical Engineer

Boston Government Services, LLC. (BGS) has created this Evergreen Talent Pool post for gathering qualified candidates for a position relating to Mechanical Engineer to support the Advance Energy Business Unit at our corporate office in Oak Ridge, TN.

BGS is an engineering, technology, and security firm helping to advance missions of national importance for government programs, national laboratories, national security facilities, nuclear operations, and complex projects. We support clients at every stage, from strategic planning and program management to the execution of engineering and technical activities. Design and develop high-temperature molten salt vessels, furnaces, and other custom mechanical equipment.

Create mechanical designs, engineering calculations, fabrication drawings, and technical documentation.

Support equipment fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning activities.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative mechanical solutions for complex process systems.

Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, DOE requirements, and industry codes.

Support engineering reviews, troubleshooting, design improvements, and continuous process optimization.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Experience in custom equipment design and fabrication.

Knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

S. Citizen.

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Experience supporting Department of Energy (DOE), nuclear, national laboratory, or other highly regulated environments.

Experience designing equipment for high-temperature process, thermal, or metallurgical applications.

Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar.

Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance, if required.

Schedule is full-time, Monday - Friday 40-hour week.
