Full‑Time Hours: 36 hours per week

Monday – Friday 4:45 AM – 1:15 PM

Rotating Saturdays 5:45 AM – 8:45 AM

Your Job as Dispensing Nurse

The LPN is instrumental in our patient’s treatment and recovery from opioid use disorder. LPNs provide high quality, safe and efficient dispensing of doses of medication to patients under the direction of the Medical Director or Physician. The LPN is responsible for thorough, accurate reporting and documentation of the patient’s symptoms, responses and progress.

Your Responsibilities As Dispensing Nurse

Works under the supervision of the Medical Director and the Clinic Director;

Maintains practical nursing professional standards of care;

Prepares and administers medication as ordered by the Medical Director or Program Physician accurately and in a timely manner;

Charts medication administration in nurse's notes accurately and in a timely manner;

Documents nursing care provided, and maintains appropriate records related to patient’s progress and activities accurately and in a timely manner;

Responsible for the safekeeping of all medication stock and the records required by the DEA, FDA, and ADP;

Responsible for urine collection and processing, reading test results as ordered by Program Physicians and the completion of all forms involved in these procedures.

Eligible positions may qualify for student loan forgiveness through HRSA, depending on clinic site eligibility. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

Prefer 1 year of nursing experience in behavioral health, outpatient treatment program, or addiction recovery field.

Previous nursing experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities, is highly preferred but not required.

Experience in medication dispensing, monitoring patient dosing, and observing for adverse reactions or medication interactions.

Understanding of nursing best practices related to substance use treatment, including trauma‑informed care and harm reduction principles.

Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., DEA, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards) related to controlled substances and patient care.

Proven ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, counselors, case managers, and support staff, to ensure coordinated, patient‑centered care.

Current LPN license in the state of North Carolina, or compact license
