Senior QA EngineerWe're looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join a strong, collaborative QA team at Healthie. You'll bring deep expertise and fresh thinking that helps the whole team grow. you'll have a real impact on how we build and ship software as our products grow. We want someone who is exceptional at testing: sharp enough to learn a complex product fast, curious enough to find what others miss, and empathetic enough to always be thinking about the people on the other side of the screen. AI tools are a core part of how we work, and we expect you to use them fluently but pragmatically, with the expertise and judgment to know what good looks like. You'll work alongside a talented team of QA engineers, contributing to testing strategy and collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and designers across a large, complex EHR platform. Where AI-powered products are in scope, you'll bring the same rigor you apply everywhere else. At Healthie, we are AI-enabled and AI-accelerated in how we build. We are looking for team members who actively leverage AI-powered development tools, embrace automation, and help teams adopt modern, AI-assisted engineering practices to increase velocity and quality.Design and execute comprehensive test plans for web applications and APIs across a large, complex EHR platform, applying judgment about where manual coverage matters most and where automation earns its keep.Perform thorough API testing using tools like Postman to validate backend services and data flows.Approach every test with the customer in mind, acting as a proxy for the people who rely on Healthie every day and advocating for their experience.Collaborate with engineers and product teams throughout the development lifecycle to catch issues early and uphold quality standards.Document defects with clear, detailed reproduction steps, especially for complex or non-deterministic workflows.Use AI tools pragmatically to accelerate your work, including test case generation, edge case discovery, code writing, and documentation, while owning the output critically.Contribute to QA process improvements and help the team adopt better testing patterns over time.About you:8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a track record of finding bugs others miss and building test coverage that holds up over time.Deep customer empathy; Exceptional testing instincts, with a natural ability to identify edge cases, think adversarially, and dig until you understand a failure completely.Technically fluent across the stack: solid API testing skills, strong working knowledge of GraphQL, comfortable reading logs and digging into a codebase when a bug needs it.Ruby and TypeScript familiarity is a plus.Comfortable with Playwright and test automation, and fluent with AI tools for generating tests, surfacing edge cases, and moving faster without sacrificing judgment.Strong communicator who works well across engineering, product, and clinical stakeholders; Bonus Points:Experience configuring testing and deployment practices, including CI/CD pipelines and release process tooling.Experience testing AI/ML systems, NLP outputs, transcription accuracy, or other probabilistic models.Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements and how they apply to PHI handling in software.Familiarity with Claude Code or other agentic coding tools.Details:Full-time, W-2, Hybrid — New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA.
