Home Infusion Registered Nurse (PRN)Location: 48/mileSign-On Bonus: $1,000 Sign-On Bonus ($500 paid on first paycheck; $500 paid after 90 days of employment)Schedule: 5-10hrs+ per week depending on patients and your availability (Not guaranteed hours)Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 2 hours out from Scranton, PA to see patients in their homes which is included in work hours and is compensated for hourly + $.48/mileSummaryThis position is available for licensed Registered Nurses (RN). Under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse Supervisor (CNS), the role involves a range of technical, clerical, clinical, and general infusion nurse tasks related to home infusion services. Responsibilities include patient home care, including assessment, obtaining IV and port access, administering intravenous and injectable medications, and providing education. Additionally, the role supports pharmacy operations through quality control activities, maintenance of pharmacy and nursing records, inventory management and preparation of medication orders.General ResponsibilitiesProvide in-home infusion therapy with regular travel required to and from patient residences.Conducts comprehensive pre-treatment assessments, including review of the patient's medical history, allergies, and current medications to ensure safe and effective therapy.Identifies, documents, and communicates any potential risks, adverse reactions, or complications associated with infusion therapy in accordance with clinical protocols.Provides clear post-infusion guidance, including instructions for managing side effects and responding to potential emergencies at home.Monitors patients continuously during and after infusions to promptly identify and address any immediate adverse reactions.Provides clinical feedback and collaborates on care plan adjustments based on patient response, condition changes, or reported concerns.Records patient education and follow-up instructions in compliance with healthcare regulations, clinical standards, and pharmacy policies.Collaboration and CommunicationCollaborates closely with the nursing team, pharmacists, and pharmacy staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care and effective implementation of treatment plans.Communicates promptly with the Clinical Nurse Supervisor regarding any concerns related to treatment effectiveness, patient responses, or adverse reactions.Medication and Safety ManagementEnsure proper preparation and handling of medications in accordance with established safety protocols and regulatory standards.Follows established infection control guidelines to prevent contamination during the preparation and administration of medications.Collaborates with the pharmacy team to manage inventory effectively, ensuring timely replenishment and accurate stock control.Provides support for insurance verification and prior authorization processes related to specialty medications, ensuring timely access to prescribed therapies.Serve as an IgCN mentor to new or transferring nursing staff who are local or regional to the mentor, as assigned.Provide guidance, coaching, and professional support to less experienced nurses to support safe and effective immunoglobulin therapy delivery.Assist with training activities as outlined by the Ig educator, including review of educational materials, infusion protocols, and patient care standards.Support skills development through direct observation, coaching, and feedback related to immunoglobulin administration and patient management.Participate in document review, including competency checklists, orientation materials, and required training records.Document mentorship activities, observations, and competency assessments in accordance with CSI policies and accreditation requirements.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.RN: 2 years (Required)ER/ICU/Infusion: 1 year preferred (critical thinking)Accessing PIV lines, Ports and maintaining PICC lines: 1 year (Required)Infusion experience in a hospital or Home Health setting: Successful completion of a drug screen prior to employment is part of our background process, which includes medical and recreational marijuana.By supplying your phone number, you agree to receive communication via phone or text.
