Position / Specialty: MS- 7th Floor Intermediate. Must pass tele rhythm identification quiz. It is required that all nurses, including travelers, are proficient in reading, identifying and reacting to cardiac rhythms. These floors are true cardiac floors and not understanding rhythms can be detrimental to a patient's health.

Shift: NIGHTS (1900-0730). Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday.

Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? To like or lesser units. Ratios: 1:5. Years of experience REQ: 1 yr (Preferred 2 years). First-timers accepted: Yes. Certs REQ: ACLS, BCLS, NIH. Locals accepted: No, must live outside 50 miles. Pending License accepted: Yes, must be active prior to start date. Guaranteed Hours: 36.

Special Requirements: Must have telemetry and cardiac/stroke experience. Some cardiac drip experience is required. See a variety of drips: Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone and Lasix for examples. Have beds able to do hemodialysis (HD done by outside company) so we do see renal patients. All modes of oxygenation other than vents.

Interdisciplinary Support: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Lift Teams, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary. Patient Diagnoses: All telemetry, stroke and CHF. Take a variety of other diagnosis requiring monitoring, chest pain, MI, syncope, HTN, and over doses. High acuity very busy unit, mostly adult and geriatric.

Special Procedures/Unit Details: Some cardiac drip experience is required. See a variety of drips: Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone and Lasix for examples. Have beds able to do hemodialysis (HD done by outside company) so we do see renal patients. All modes of oxygenation other than vents.

Special Equipment: Rescue nurse available to assist for bedside procedures (TEE, cardioversion-not TN).

Submittal Details: Requires specific amount of exp. 1 -2 preferred experience, will accept first time travelers. Valid state license must be pending or candidate must be willing to participate in the Aya licensure project. Mile Radius Rule Applies 50 Miles. Local Rules Will not take locals. Candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospitals near by Depending on volume/census. Copy of Certifications - Traveler agrees to obtain all required certs prior to start. Will take pending certs. Charting Cerner experience required. Background Policy to be noted prior to submission Nursys only. Return Staff Policy must be gone 3 years before returning as a traveler. The travelers need to complete up to 8hours of modules within 1 week of signing for Beacon Preferred Modules: Module hours are billable up to 8 hours, average 3-8 hours spent on modules. Modules are completed pre-start. Modules are self-reported.
