Contract Details
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Contract Length: Option of 13 or 26 weeks
Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 1 completed travel assignment
• 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous IICU/ICU experience with an acuity ratio of at least 1:3 is mandatory

Licensure and Certifications
Must have an active South Carolina or multistate license
Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Patient Population & Unit Details
This position involves caring for adult patients who are trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology cases requiring monitoring or interventions every 1-2 hours. The unit handles direct admissions, ICU transfers, and escalations from Rapid Response Teams.
Required Skills
Proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
Experience in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias
Medication management skills, including titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
Ventilator experience is required
Floating Requirements
Staff may be required to float to other units or campuses as necessary. Floating will be limited to areas where the staff is qualified and has documented competencies.
Hospital Overview
This is a regional community teaching medical center located in Columbia, South Carolina. It is recognized as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, and it features advanced specialty programs including cardiac care, stroke, and vascular services.
Additional Information
Daily Census: 21 patients
Staffing Ratios: 1:3 for both day and night shifts
Interdisciplinary Support
Support from IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Pharmacy
Utilization of specialized equipment including Hercules patient repositioners and ceiling lifts

Orientation and Compliance
Orientation occurs every Monday. All travelers are required to complete pre-assignment testing and modules within 48 hours of contract signing. Reimbursement is available for hours spent completing these modules, up to 16 hours.
Travel Requirements
There are specific radius rules that apply for travel eligibility. Travelers may need to adhere to floating policies in response to census concerns.
