Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description
The main function of a Phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshoot issues, provide training, and make workflow recommendations.
Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
Decontaminate equipment and update patient information.
Explain the venipuncture or specimen collection process in a clear and courteous manner.
Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.
Phlebotomy experience of 1-2 years.
Proficiency in blood draw and specimen collection.
Strong customer service skills.
Experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment as required.
Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Work in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting. Use of Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication.
This is a Contract position based out of Burlington, NC.
