This collaborative environment delivers FRESH THINKING, reassuring our customers that they choose the best when they choose to work with the people of Dover Food Retail.We are looking for a Cost Accountant who will be responsible for supporting our Dover Food Retail accounting functions performing a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions. This position will require a significant focus on cost accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting. In addition, this individual will be responsible for accounting for inventory. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting key activities that relate to month, quarterly, year-end closing, account reconciliations, and auditing.Assist in the analysis and validation of our financial results.Support AR and AP accounting functions as needed.Investigate and resolve accounting issues when they arise.Prepare monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy in reporting and ledger maintenance.Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.At least 2 years of general ledger accounting or public accounting audit experienceWhat are the preferred qualifications?Oracle experience preferred.CPA or CPA candidate preferred.Must be an experienced user of Microsoft Office software, budgeting, financial reporting and general ledger software, also be willing and capable of learning new systems and tools.Extended work hours are required depending on activity, especially during month, quarter, and year-end financial closing.Demonstrates sound analytical depth and technical capability in finance and/or accounting methods, with the ability to multi-task and take ownership on tasks through completion.Advanced computer skills in Power Query, Power BI, Access, Oracle, or SQL are a plus.How We Define Our Values and Why You Should Join Our Team:The backbone behind our collection of outstanding businesses is a team of dedicated employees who protect and enhance our valued reputation for quality and delivering what we promise.
