Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgery - Night Shift

Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical Surgical (Med Surg) team within a well-established acute care hospital setting in Honolulu, HI . This role is ideal for an RN who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across a diverse adult population.

The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with a variety of medical conditions, supporting recovery, managing acute and chronic illnesses, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical unit

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical and clinical evaluations

Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with physician orders

Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans

Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in status

Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams

Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, discharge planning, and follow-up care

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols

Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges

Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Hawaii or compact eligibility if applicable)

Minimum 1 year of acute care or Med Surg experience

Basic Life Support ( BLS ) certification required

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced hospital environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Medical Surgical or acute care hospital settings

Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( ACLS ) preferred

BSN preferred

Familiarity with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
