Pharmacist - Pharmacy, Full Time

Lufkin Pharmacy and Co. is part of an employee-owned company, Ark Pharmacies. Each of the member pharmacies of Ark have a rich tradition steeped in a focus on compassionate customer service and desire to continually improve.

We are seeking a Full-Time Pharmacist-in-Charge. This position offers a $25,000 sign-on bonus with a two-year contract commitment.

The schedules are subject to the needs of the pharmacy.

The compensation package for full-time employees includes:

Operations

Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing the following duties.

Provides exceptional customer service according to the customer core process and mission.

Notifies leadership of potential violations of any statute, rule or court order existing within the pharmacy.

Partners with technician manager & operations to help educate staff on pharmacy-related issues including, but not limited to, regulatory changes/compliance, FDA drug recalls, drug information, sample medications, and investigational studies.

Participates in the implementation of quality assurance programs for pharmacy services designed to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care, pursue opportunities to improve patient care, and resolve identified problems.

Participates in the implementation and maintenance of the pharmacy technician training manual.

Ensures that the pharmacy is in compliance with all local, state, and federal accrediting rules and regulations.

Provides supervision and oversight of pharmacy practice duties performed by all pharmacy employees.

Directs pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.

Answers questions and provides information on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals to prescribers as well as patients.

Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.

Answers phone calls requiring a pharmacist.

Assists/handles customer conflicts both in person as well as on the phone.

As a pharmacist-in-charge, you are supervising the technician, tech-in-training, as well as cashiers on duty during your scheduled shift. This will require active participation in training as well as collaboration with management to handle employee performance evaluations and correction.

Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

At least two years of retail pharmacy experience required.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of prescription processing software, have access to and operational knowledge of a drug information database, and have access to and operational knowledge of the Texas PMP website, internet software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.

Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
