Operating Room NurseThe Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering patient care in the operating room. As a vital member of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and other personnel to provide high-quality care according to regulatory standards and hospital policies.Key ResponsibilitiesAnticipate and plan for patient care in the operating room.Ensure necessary supplies are prepared and available for surgical procedures.Maintain timely communication with families regarding patient status.Update physician preference cards as needed.Assist and scrub for surgeries, collaborating closely with physicians.Supervise personnel involved in delivering patient care.RequirementsMust hold ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association).Valid RN license in Alabama or a multi-state RN license.Minimum of 4 years recent experience as an Operating Room RN in a hospital setting.Experience as an OR Circulator with familiarity in Endoscopy.Preferred additional experience in ENT/GYN areas.Work ScheduleShifts are scheduled Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. On-call duties will be required seven days per month, including one weekend each month.This position requires commitment to providing the highest standard of patient care and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
