Registered Nurse (RN) - Adult Transitions
This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic psychiatric setting. The role involves providing high-quality care to adult patients, including those with varying degrees of mental health challenges.
Unit Information
Patient Capacity: ADOL - 18 beds, Serenity - 24 beds, ITU - 32 beds, SRAD - 16 beds, VINE - 9 beds
Staffing Ratios: Nurses to patients: 8:1; Mental Health Technicians to patients: 12:1
Unit Descriptions:

ADOL Unit: Serves patients aged 12-18 years
Serenity: Lower acuity adult unit
ITU: Higher acuity adult unit for patients with thought disorders
SRAD: Focused on patients leading a senior lifestyle
VINE: Lower acuity adult unit
Responsibilities

Assess patients' mental health status, recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems.
Develop individualized care plans based on each patient's mental health and behavioral needs.
Administer psychiatric medications and monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions.
Provide immediate support to patients in crisis, utilizing de-escalation techniques and appropriate crisis intervention.
Engage in therapeutic communication, building trust and rapport with patients through effective interaction.
Monitor patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs and medication effects.
Qualifications

Current BLS and CPI certifications are required.
Experience in mental health assessments and crisis intervention preferred.
Dress Code
Nurses are required to wear blue uniforms, while Mental Health Technicians are to wear green or black uniforms.
Scheduling Requirements
This role requires coverage for three 12-hour shifts each day, seven days a week. Days off are not guaranteed unless specified in the contract.
