Temporary Machinist

Sulzer is a leading engineering company with a proud heritage of innovation. Set up and operate machine tools, including HBM, VBM, lathes, milling machines, ID/OD grinders, planers, and bore, without assistance, following department policy and procedures manual, to manufacture and recondition component parts to customer, OEM and industry standards. Interprets mechanical drawings, blueprints, and sketches and performs precision metal cutting, grinding, shaping and fitting. Measures components, parts, and raw materials with precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools. Works under limited supervision.

Improves set ups and methods for higher quality and improved cost.
Operate overhead crane and forklifts safely as directed by Supervisor. Assists in the disassembly, inspection, and re-assembly of pump equipment when required
Support and assist coworkers, including training and collaboration.
Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide safety program which includes following all safety policies and procedures
Supports and cooperates in Sulzer Nuclear Quality Program
Works overtime as requested
Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, man lifts, and scissor lifts
Completion of a machinist apprentice program or equivalent training.
Ability to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspection
