Journeyman Electrician - Night Work

OmniOn Power currently has a Journeyman Electrician (Field Service Technician III) opportunity available.

This role will be 100% remote with overnight travel to customer sites in a regional area. Periodic travel may be required outside of the geographical region. The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems and industrial equipment, including DC power systems. Performs inspections, diagnoses issues, and completes installation and restoration work while ensuring compliance with safety standards and project requirements. Works independently to support customer needs, supervise internal and subcontractor teams, maintain equipment and inventory, and mentor apprentices. Serves as the company qualifier for electrical contractor licenses across multiple states. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and infrastructure in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.

Perform system inspections and technical assessments to diagnose electrical issues and implement effective corrective solutions.

Install and service industrial equipment, including DC power systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and work orders to complete installations and repairs accurately and efficiently.

Communicate directly with customers to assess needs, provide technical recommendations, and ensure high levels of service satisfaction.

Work independently with minimal supervision while managing priorities, schedules, and project requirements.

Select, install, and maintain electrical components such as wiring, receptacles, panelboards, switchgear, and switchboards.

Supervise and coordinate internal teams and subcontractors performing installation or maintenance activities.

Maintain required tools, equipment, and standard replacement parts to support efficient field operations.

Monitor material usage and inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies for ongoing work.

Accurately document labor hours, materials, and project activities for reporting and cost tracking purposes.

Ensure compliance with all company policies as well as federal, state, and local safety regulations.

Serve as the company’s qualifying representative for electrical contractor licenses across multiple states.

Travel 60%, as required.

High School Diploma/GED

Valid state license permitting practicing as journeyman electrician

Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook / Excel / Word

Ability and willingness to travel 100% of the time with overnight stays

Ability and willingness to obtain Electrical Contractor Qualifier Licenses or reciprocity in multiple states as required for OmniOn Power

Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision

Strong customer service mindset

Prior field engineering experience

Strong project management skills

Experience in telco, data center or other critical power facilities

Frequently pushing or pulling cables up to 60 lbs.
