Remote Staff Attorney

Location: Texas (Remote, Hybrid, or Onsite)

A well-established, nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Litigation Staff Attorney with a minimum of 4 years of litigation experience to join its active and growing litigation practice. Experience in tort litigation and insurance defense is strongly preferred.

This is a non-shareholder track position ideal for an attorney who enjoys substantive litigation work, significant case responsibility, and a more predictable career path outside of the partnership track without the pressure to bring in business. The position also offers a reduced annual billable-hour requirement of 1,600 hours .

Responsibilities:

Manage an active litigation caseload with a high degree of autonomy.

Draft, argue, and respond to motions.

Take and defend depositions.

Interview, evaluate, and depose fact and expert witnesses.

Conduct legal research and prepare high-quality written work product.

Develop case strategy and support clients throughout the litigation process.

Participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed.

Handle matters in both state and federal courts.

Qualifications:

J.D. from an accredited law school.

Licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar.

Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience.

Experience in tort litigation and/or insurance defense preferred.

Strong academic credentials.

Exceptional written, oral advocacy, and legal research skills.

Ability to independently manage files and litigation matters from start to finish.

Trial experience in state and federal court is a plus.

Work Arrangement:

This position may be based anywhere in Texas and offers remote, hybrid, or onsite flexibility depending on the candidate's preference and business needs.

Travel Requirements:

While this role offers flexible work arrangements, travel will be required throughout Texas for court appearances, hearings, depositions, mediations, client meetings, trials, and other litigation-related proceedings.
