2nd Shift Manufacturing Production Laborer

The Batch Technician supports a small production team by accurately batching frozen ingredients into large mixers to manufacture a variety of hot sauces. This role combines physical work, computer-guided batching, and preparation tasks in a clean, food-production environment with consistent spice and vinegar odors.
Work closely with supervisors to add frozen ingredients into large production mixers to manufacture different types of hot sauces.
Use a computer to read and interpret recipes, ingredient lists, and batching materials for each production run.
Mix batches correctly according to established recipes and procedures, maintaining consistency and quality.
Lift and unpack boxes of frozen ingredients, including peppers, vegetables, and other materials, weighing approximately 30–50 lbs on a consistent basis.
Follow detailed instructions and production schedules to prepare for future batches and keep production running smoothly.
Monitor batches during production and adjust tasks as needed to support ongoing operations.
Use downtime after physical tasks to complete assigned preparation work, organizing materials and staging ingredients for upcoming runs.
Clean work areas regularly, including removing and disposing of packaging materials and maintaining a tidy production space.
Perform general production and packing duties as needed to support overall plant operations.
Follow all food safety, cleanliness, and plant procedures while working in a clean, food-producing environment.
Complete any other duties assigned by supervisors to support production goals and timelines.
Experience working in a general production environment.
Basic knowledge of interacting with computers to read and follow recipes and batching instructions.
Willingness to work in a clean, food-producing environment with consistent odors from vegetables, vinegars, and multiple types of spices.
Previous experience working overnight or non-standard shifts.
Comfort working in a colder production environment with spice and vinegar odors.
Ability to work collaboratively with production associates and supervisors across different shifts.
Interest in learning and cross-training on different equipment throughout the plant.
Willingness to be trained into the role and follow structured processes and procedures.
Comfort working in a smaller production team environment.
Flexibility to work overtime and some Saturdays as needed based on production demands.

This role is based in a general production facility that operates multiple shifts with a team of approximately a few dozen employees. There is one opening on 1st shift, scheduled Monday through Friday from 4:00 a.m. with some Saturdays as needed. A 2nd shift runs Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., also with some Saturday work, and overtime may be more frequent during busy periods. The production area is a colder environment with noticeable spice and vinegar odors, consistent with a hot sauce and food-production setting. Employees work with many production associates throughout the plant, with people coming in and out across different shifts. The facility is clean and focused on food safety, and team members are expected to maintain tidy work areas and adhere to plant procedures and cleanliness standards.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Marcos, TX.
