Mental Health LPN - Full Time Evenings

This position delivers nursing care and treatment to inmates with physical or mental health needs, behavioral challenges, or developmental disabilities. The role supports daily functioning, medical assessments, treatments, reporting, and emergency response within the facility.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform the following duties:

Care Delivery: Check vital signs, administer medications, provide treatments, and reinforce health education

Assist clinicians during examinations, screenings, immunizations, and testing procedures

Emergency Actions: Provide first aid, CPR, AED response, and assessments during medical emergencies

Document care activities, update electronic health records, and prepare reports for transfers or release

Sterilize instruments, maintain inventory, and ensure adequate stock in treatment areas

Skill Development: Participate in required training and maintain knowledge of policies and procedures

Full-time employment, 40 hour work week

The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM; 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM; and 3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $68,914.00 (before taxes).

This position requires active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in Pennsylvania.

All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
