Founded in 1994 by Steven Amir Hemmat, a former DOJ trial attorney, Hemmat Law Group is a Seattle-based family law firm representing clients throughout Washington State.

Responsibilities

Manage an assigned family law caseload through resolution.

Develop case strategy and oversee litigation matters throughout Washington, primarily in King, Snohomish, and Pierce Counties.

Represent clients in hearings, mediations, depositions, settlement conferences, and trials.

Draft pleadings, motions, declarations, and other legal documents.

Conduct legal research and provide practical legal advice to clients.

Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to move matters forward efficiently.

Maintain proactive communication with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and team members.

Exercise sound judgment in complex and time-sensitive situations.

Meet established productivity expectations, including a target of six billable hours per business day.

Manage competing priorities and deadlines while maintaining exceptional client service.

Contribute to a collaborative team environment through mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Active Washington State Bar license in good standing.

Family law experience strongly preferred.

Attorneys with comparable litigation experience may also be considered, particularly where there is a demonstrated interest in building a long-term career in family law.

Strong litigation, legal writing, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Comfort working independently and collaboratively.

Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $95,000–$250,000+ annually

Compensation is based on experience, demonstrated capability, scope of responsibility, and overall contribution. In addition to base compensation, attorneys are eligible for performance-based incentive opportunities.
