Perioperative Nurse (RN), Surgery, PRN

PER DIEM (2 days weekly minimum) OPERATING ROOM REGISTERED NURSE The Advanced Center for Surgery is a busy, multispecialtyambulatory surgery center in Vero Beach, performing outpatient procedures in Orthopedics and Neurology. We are an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International, who provides first-class surgical services for local communities, and we recognize our employees as our number one asset. We are currently searching for a OR Circulating Registered Nurse - PRN to join our team.

JOB SUMMARY Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all age patients in operating room.

Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center.

Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to physicians, patients, family members, and personnel in other departments as well as team members.

May have additional responsibilities as designated by the Clinical Director, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits and projects.

Circulating nurses may ensure all patient paperwork is completed, such as consent forms. During the procedure, nurses may also document what takes place.

Circulating nurses may also replenish surgical supplies as needed during the procedure. Being detail oriented is also a needed skill for OR nurses. Nurses must also be able to handle several things at once. For instance, they may need to listen to the surgeon, monitor the patient and assist with the procedure at the same time.

Ideal candidate will be focused on excellent customer service, have the ability to multi-task, the ability to show flexibility in assignments, maintain scrupulous infection control standards, maintain professional competencies and have the ability to work as part of an interdependent multidisciplinary team. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some later evenings required. Required Skills Position Requirements Graduate of an approved school of nursing

Experience in orthopedic surgical procedures is required. Experience in total joint surgical procedures is a plus.
