Teller (Finance)

The Teller serves as a frontline representative of the credit union, playing a vital role in delivering exceptional financial services and fostering strong member relationships. This position blends service excellence, operational accuracy, and sales support to ensure a positive experience for every member.

Key Responsibilities: Member Engagement

Champion a member-first culture by delivering friendly, professional, and personalized service.

Respond to member inquiries and concerns both in person and by phone, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Engage members in meaningful conversations to understand their financial needs and identify opportunities to add value.

Refer members to appropriate team members or services when specialized support is needed.

Collaborate with branch colleagues to meet and exceed sales goals.

Proactively identify opportunities to cross-sell credit union products and services that align with member needs.

Utilize RSS tools to support member service and facilitate referrals.

Member Accounts & Branch Operations

Accurately and efficiently process a wide range of teller transactions and account maintenance tasks.

Ensure compliance with all transactional policies and procedures.

Participate in branch opening and closing routines, maintaining security and operational readiness.

Support smooth daily operations and uphold branch standards during business hours.

Organizational Engagement

Represent the credit union with professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.

Uphold the highest ethical standards in all interactions and responsibilities.

Support leadership initiatives that position the credit union as a top employer.

Take initiative to perform other essential functions as needed to support the team.

Be available to work Saturdays as part of the branch schedule.

Requirements: Education and Experience

High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

Customer service experience with strong focus on providing exceptional service to customers and members.

Skills and Attributes

Excellent communication and people skills to effectively interact with members and team members.

Strong multitasking abilities, prioritization skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in using banking software, computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong attention to detail and committed to maintaining accurate records and transactions.

Ability to uphold the credit union’s values and fostering a positive work environment.

Proven ability to work collaboratively with other departments and teams to achieve organizational goals.

Professional appearance required.

Strong commitment to fostering a member-centric culture with strong emphasis on delivering excellent customer service.

Ability to participate branch activities and community events for branch awareness.

This role operates primarily operates in-person in an office environment. On occasion, this position may require occasional travel to other Achieva offices or events. This position may require extended periods of sitting or standing and occasional light lifting (up to 25 pounds) may be required.
