Registered Nurse (RN)-Medical Care-Full Time Nights

The Medical Intermediate Care Unit (MIMCU) at Mount Carmel East has 6-18 beds and delivers care on a ratio of 1:4. The Registered Nurse (RN) will care for patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, COVID, psychological disorders, drug overdoses, surgical, diabetes, and more. RNs in this unit gain experience caring for intermediate patients from the Medical ICU or Emergency Department. Within the scope of the Ohio Nursing Practice Act, the RN will provide care sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. The RN collaborates in a team environment and is accountable for patient care using the Nursing Process in accordance with the organization’s standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Provide nursing care, ensuring patient safety, promoting evidence‑based practice and quality initiatives, and exhibiting professionalism in accordance with the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program.

Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients using evidence‑based practice. Collaborate with patients and families to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical, spiritual, and educational components.

Document accurately and completely assessments, interventions, and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care providers as appropriate.

Graduate from a school of nursing.

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.

For casual RNs, 2 years of experience is required.

All new graduate nurses with less than one year of clinical experience will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
