School Behavior Interventionists

Primary Purpose Provide campus-wide push-in prevention and intervention support for general education students with frequent or severe behavioral needs. Prioritize keeping students in the classroom, using short-term removal only for safety concerns or intense dysregulation. Qualifications Education/Certification/Licensure Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university One of the following required: Valid Texas Teacher Certification Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) Valid Texas School Counselor Certification Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Special Knowledge/Skills Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills Solution-oriented problem solving Knowledge of instructional strategies and evidence-based behavior practices Ability to collect, analyze, and use data to inform decisions Experience supporting resistant learners and students with behavioral challenges Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills Experience Minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experience (preferred) Experience developing and implementing individualized behavior and/or safety plans in an educational setting (preferred) Major Responsibilities and Duties

Conduct data-driven coaching cycles focused on classroom management and Tier I behavior supports

Use short-term removal only for significant safety concerns or intense dysregulation, prioritizing quick reintegration into the classroom

Serve on the Tier II Behavior Team, using data to identify students, develop interventions, and monitor progress using data

Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality professional learning opportunities for personal growth.

Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.

Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.

Demonstrates proficient levels of technology applications.

Participates fully in drills and safety exercises to provide for the safety and overall emotional wellbeing of students.

Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.

Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
