Role Overview:

An Acute Care Physical Therapist provides comprehensive patient assessment, treatment planning, and implementation within a hospital setting. They serve as a resource in their area of expertise, participate in staff development, and contribute to educational activities.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver effective patient care through evaluation, re-evaluation, and treatment aligned with professional standards and ethics.

Determine equipment needs, train patients and families, and assist with adaptive devices.

Maintain accurate, timely documentation of interventions, discharge plans, and billing information.

Manage time effectively to meet productivity expectations and adhere to schedules.

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, decision-making, and process improvements.

Engage in professional development, including continuing education, mentoring, and program improvement activities.

Qualifications & Skills

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.

1-2 years of clinical experience in rehabilitation or acute care.

Eligibility for licensure in DC or relevant jurisdiction.

Current BLS certification.
