Louisiana State University (LSU)
Testing Proctor
The Office of Testing and Evaluation Services (OTES) supports the LSU campus by providing computer-based testing in the LSU Testing Center for LSU academic course exams, course placement, and national, state, and local tests. Other services such as instructor course evaluations, test and survey development, and scoring are also provided.
The OTES has approximately 450 computer stations in four testing center locations in Himes Hall. The Testing Center typically impacts 20,000+ students and over 200,000+ tests per year (3 semesters). The Testing Center operates as a model provider of accessible, innovative, and state-of-the-art services and experiences by providing:
exceptional, cost-effective, and efficient services to students, faculty, LSU, and the greater community
the utmost integrity to our students, faculty, and administration with a fair, secure, consistent, and accurate testing experience
a technically state of the arts computer testing center that is comfortable and has a convenient testing environment
Our test proctors will observe all exams to ensure that all who take a test in the Testing Center receive equitable treatment, that all testing procedures are followed and that all test-takers have the same opportunity to excel on the test
Proctors are responsible for maintaining the testing rooms, checking in and verifying student's identification, ensuring students complete all work independently and ensuring only approved materials are used during the exam, and that all materials are returned at the completion of the exam.
