ASCP Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLS) or ASCP Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
Certifications: MT(ASCP) or CLS(ASCP)

Performs and interprets designated laboratory procedures.
Performs serologic, chemical, bacteriologic, immunohematologic (blood bank), and microscopic procedures and related duties to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Performs accurate and appropriate testing on laboratory specimens according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
Troubleshoots instruments, equipment, reagents, and patient specimen/product problems using standard laboratory techniques as required.
Performs laboratory quality control, including reporting discrepancies and troubleshooting according to established procedures and protocols.
Takes appropriate action to assure quality results and products are provided for use by physicians, nurses, and patients.
Performs daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and calibrations on instruments and equipment to meet all quality requirements.
Conducts verification tests on new products, instruments, and procedures, which includes comparisons and statistical analysis as requested.
Performs quality audit data collection, technical policy/procedure development, and inspection assistance under the direction of laboratory management.
Maintains workflow in the clinical laboratory through proficiency in testing and maintaining work areas and monitoring inventory.
Assists in training and orientation of new associates.
