Network Engineering - Remote

Network EngineerGDH Inc. is seeking a versatile network engineer with expertise spanning network engineering, security, and cybersecurity. This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the security posture of carrier networks and internal systems while supporting daily network operations, service delivery, and strategic projects. ResponsibilitiesProvision, test, and support carrier Ethernet and IP/MPLS services, including circuit turn-up, configuration changes, and outage recovery.Support and troubleshoot Ciena-based transport and packet platforms across the network.Collaborate with the Network Operations Center on escalations, root cause analysis, and service restoration to ensure customer satisfaction.Maintain comprehensive network documentation, diagrams, and IP address management.Administer firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, and network segmentation to secure the carrier and corporate environments.Harden network devices through AAA (TACACS+/RADIUS), role-based access, and secure management protocols.Perform vulnerability scans, patch management, and lifecycle updates on network infrastructure.Conduct security assessments, support compliance activities, and contribute to organizational security policies and awareness.Support or lead cross-functional projects related to network upgrades, migration, new service deployment, and vendor evaluations.Qualifications3+ years of hands-on network engineering experience for Engineer II, or 5+ years for Engineer III.Experience managing firewalls, VPNs, and network access controls.Working knowledge of cybersecurity operations such as log analysis, vulnerability management, and incident response.Linux administration experience (RHEL/Rocky, Debian/Ubuntu or similar).Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash, with API familiarity.Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 – $60.00 Hourly This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.GDH is a premier staffing and talent solutions company dedicated to helping businesses find the best talent and assisting job seekers in finding their dream jobs.We specialize in IT across several sectors, connecting top talent with leading enterprises.
