Job Summary Summary Utilizing the nursing process, responsibility for providing for immediate and long-term nursing care needs of patients within the standards of the department, hospital and regulatory agencies. Does this position require Patient Care? Utilizes multiple data sources to determine actual/potential health problems and functional status. Performs point of care testing. Communicate findings effectively to members of the healthcare team. Accurately plans nursing interventions for assigned patients. Modifies and individualizes Nursing Plan of Care and protocols. Demonstrates ability to prioritize patient care needs. Partners with patients/families to support recovery goals. Provides and implements nursing care interventions. Reviews physician orders in a timely manner. Accurately evaluates the effectiveness of nursing care interventions. Documentation on the Nursing Plan of Care, protocols, and Assessment Flowsheet reflects response to intervention, demonstrates an understanding of patients’ response to treatment interventions. Accurately communicate patients’ clinical status at clinical team rounds and change of shift reports. Utilizes evidence-based nursing knowledge to guide practice decisions. Provides a leadership role in organizing and providing patient care. Delegate care interventions. Assumes a leadership role in medical and psychiatric emergencies. Promotes/provides for critical incident de-briefing following emergency event. Participates in the training and education of RNs, MHSs, and other healthcare providers. Provides health teaching related to patient needs and recovery goals. Documents teaching in the patient’s record. Seeks constructive feedback regarding work performance from peers and professional colleagues. Contributes to the productivity and cost-effectiveness of the hospital, department, and unit. Notifies shift coordinator/charge nurse of availability for additional assignments.

Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
