Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems
Assess patient and family readiness to learn, developmental level, and factors affecting ability to learn; utilize appropriate patient education materials for the oncology population
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care
Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care
Identify and address discharge planning needs, cultural and ethnic considerations, and psychosocial factors when developing and updating individualized plans of care
Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives while promoting a safe and secure environment
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of North Carolina
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program
Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing program
Experience in an oncology or outpatient clinical setting
