2 years of Emergency Room experience
Experience with both pediatric and adult patients
Must have 2 years of Emergency Room experience.
Candidates will be required to float to Pediatric Emergency Room.
Candidates with critical care experience will have additional tests.
The adult Emergency Room has 36 treatment areas.
The pediatric Emergency Room has 12 treatment areas and 8 fast track pods.
There are 3 dedicated triage nurses.
Emergency Room nurses manage their own holds.
Security is in-house.
There are approximately 325 patient visits per day between both Emergency Rooms and 30,000 pediatric visits per year.
Staffing ratios are 1:2 for ICU, 1:4 for pediatric and adult patients, and 1:1 for procedural sedation.
Candidates should be experienced with a variety of diagnoses and emergencies, including critically ill patients, respiratory failure, and substance abuse.
Candidates must have significant pediatric emergency room experience if working in Pediatric Emergency Room.
There will be nurse aids, paramedics, and patient sitters on the unit.
The charting system used is Cerner.
12-hour shift options are available.
Travelers are expected to work weekends and holidays.
No floating outside of the Emergency Room is required.
Scrub color is navy blue for registered nurses.
The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.
