RN Clinical Nurse - Emergency Department

The RN Clinical Nurse in the Emergency Department is a proactive member of the interdisciplinary team. They ensure that patients and families receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. Practice is governed by Nurse Managers and supported through the Professional Practice Model. The RN competencies are derived from evidence-based practice and research. All RN Clinical Nurses must uphold the standards set by the Professional Nurse Practice Act. Coordinates care through effective partnerships to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

The nurse performs the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. They provide relationship-based, patient-centered care adapting to diverse cultural backgrounds. Practices using current clinical standards to deliver safe and quality patient care. Serves as a preceptor and mentor, ensuring a qualified workforce. Promotes evidence-based practice and nursing research to improve patient care. Resource Management: Proactively plans for the care of patients across the continuum. Supports efficient use of human and material resources. Complies with all policies and standards of work.
