WWBT 12 On Your Side is the Gray-owned NBC-affiliated television station located in Richmond, serving Central Virginia and beyond; embodying excellence, innovation, and community commitment. We fulfill our "On Your Side" brand promise through quality news, programming, and information across all media platforms. WWBT, Richmond's #1 news team, is seeking a dynamic and engaging meteorologist to join our First Alert Weather Team. The successful candidate must be a team player who can develop forecasts that are accurate, timely, and compelling across on-air broadcasts and digital platforms for the Richmond, Virginia market.

Produce and deliver daily weather forecasts for newscasts (weekday and/or weekend assignments as scheduled).

Track, interpret, and communicate weather conditions using radar, satellite, model data, and local observations.

Publish frequent digital updates (web/app/social), including short-form video and push-alert style messaging.

Develop weather-related enterprise content (seasonal preparedness, climate/local impact explainers, community safety).

Participate in community outreach (school visits, station events)

Follow all station editorial standards, brand guidelines, and applicable policies.

Bachelor's degree in Meteorology/Atmospheric Science or related field (or equivalent experience).

Demonstrated on-air experience forecasting and presenting weather (reel/links required).

Strong understanding of forecast models, radar interpretation, and severe weather operations.

Strong writing and editorial judgment for digital and social platforms.
