Position Title : Litigation Attorney
Handle sophisticated medical malpractice litigation without the traditional law firm partnership-track pressure. A well-established organization serving California physicians is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to manage medical malpractice defense matters as part of a highly collaborative legal team. This attorney will handle pleadings, discovery, investigation, court appearances, and ongoing case strategy while partnering closely with Trial Attorneys, claims professionals, and dedicated legal support staff.
The ideal candidate is a California-barred litigation attorney with strong defense experience who thrives in a team environment, communicates effectively with clients and colleagues, and wants to build deeper medical malpractice expertise with a clear path toward taking on greater trial responsibility.
Responsibilities Manage medical malpractice defense matters throughout the litigation lifecycle
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, discovery responses, and other litigation documents
Develop case investigation and discovery strategies in collaboration with Trial Attorneys and claims professionals
Conduct legal research and analyze complex medical, factual, and liability issues
Work closely with Trial Attorneys, legal secretaries, paralegals and claims professionals on assigned matters
Strong litigation experience with medical malpractice experience highly preferred
Defense-side litigation experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of California civil litigation procedures and applicable court rules
Strong legal research, analytical, and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems such as Box
