3RD shift-CNC Production Machinist

Machinist Job Description

The Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting various types of conventional and automatic machines, including CNC machines, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other precision equipment. This role may also involve assisting Manufacturing Team Members in the setup of machines.

Perform a wide variety of setups and operations on CNC machines.

Write and edit programs to meet overall requirements.

Read drawings and prints to create parts.

Handle multiple machine changeovers per shift in custom machining.

Use micrometers and calipers to check the quality of parts.

Handle changeovers independently and understand CNC machine logic.

Write basic programs, post-edit CNC programs, and troubleshoot errors.

Set up jobs, run jobs, and inspect parts.

Proficiency in CNC programming.

Ability to perform CNC setups and machining.

Familiarity with Mazak, Haas, and Fanuc machines.

4+ years of CNC machining experience or a CNC tech degree.

• Experience with machines such as HAAS, MORI SEIKI, MAZAK, BROTHERS, MITSUBISHI, and BRIDGEPORTS.
• High School Diploma or Trade School for CNC preferred.

The position is on the third shift, working Sunday through Wednesday from 7pm to 5:30am, with potential work on Thursday nights. The company employs a total of 125 people and specializes in the production of power clamps and manual clamps.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Juliet, TN.
