Maintenance Planner Estimator

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Planner Estimator for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O).

Posting Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance Planning and working in conjunction with the Area Manager, the Planner Estimator initiates, plans, estimates, and coordinates work orders for the repair, maintenance, changes, and additions to the physical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Maintains liaison with department facilities coordinators, discussing individual problems and requests with heads of University departments in a designated zone.

Acts in the absence of the Area Manager.

Provides building lists and identifies DFM and Maintenance needs.

Mid Range Salary: 84393.98

Maximum Salary: 100509.48

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

A minimum of two years of managerial experience in industrial or institutional project work and/or maintenance field.

Certifications / Licenses

A valid driver’s license.

Position requires travel to job sites using a university vehicle and completion of the university Defensive Driving course.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must demonstrate the ability to read construction drawings, write specifications, and develop project costs.

Knowledge of basic mathematical principles, conversion tables, and ability to locate and interpret technical information.

Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience planning and managing projects is preferred. Microsoft Project and Gantt charts experience is preferred.

CAD experience is preferred.

Certification: Lead Paint Certified Renovator.

MS Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
