Job Description
A school district in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking a qualified SpeechLanguage Pathologist (SLP) for a fulltime, schoolbased contract . This position serves K12 students and focuses on providing speech and language services to support communication, academic success, and social development. Responsibilities
Provide speechlanguage therapy services to students in individual and group settings
Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders
Develop, implement, and manage IEP goals and services
Conduct evaluations and reevaluations in compliance with district and federal guidelines
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
Provide consultation and training to staff regarding communication strategies and interventions
Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and service logs
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
Support student access to curriculum and communication development
Qualifications
Active Virginia SpeechLanguage Pathologist license required
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCSLP) preferred
Clinical Fellows (CFs) may be considered based on district needs
Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
Licensing and credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates
Education
~ Masters degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology or a related field

Experience
Previous schoolbased or pediatric experience preferred
Experience managing caseloads and supporting IEP compliance preferred

Clinical Fellows (CFs) with appropriate supervision eligibility are encouraged to apply
Skills
Strong knowledge of speechlanguage therapy practices in educational settings
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong organizational and documentation abilities
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Commitment to supporting diverse student populations
Work Hours
~ MondayFriday

~8:00 AM 3:30 PM

~ Approximately 3740 hours per week
