Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) is a licensed professional who provides direct patient care as part of the perioperative role by functioning as a first assistant to the surgeon. The RNFA practices an expanded role of perioperative nursing and has acquired the necessary knowledge, skills, and judgment to assist the surgeon through organized instruction and supervised practice. This role requires working under the supervision of the surgeon in the Operating Room and Labor and Delivery Suite.ResponsibilitiesAssist the surgeon during operative procedures.Manage patient care in the perioperative setting.Utilize advanced nursing skills to support surgical functions.Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.ScheduleThis position requires 8- or 10-hour shifts with days starting at 0630.
