Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled ER RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Overland Park, Kansas.

Required Qualifications

One year of recent experience as an ER RN

Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations

Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification

Preferred Qualifications

TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP, and SANE certifications

Other relevant certifications or licenses

Summary/Key Responsibilities
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse delivers rapid‑response, high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced emergency department setting. Responsibilities include:

Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity

Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families

Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to protocols

Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergency treatments and examinations

Monitor patient comfort and safety, responding to immediate needs

Observe and document patient conditions, take and monitor vital signs

Respond to life‑saving situations per nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols

Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR

Initiate patient education plans as needed

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers, support staff)

Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice

Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Essential Skills

Ability to read/write and communicate in English, read/comprehend instructions, follow verbal instructions, PC skills

Physical and Sensory Requirements

Be able to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend

Work with various personnel, maintaining a positive attitude

Perform fine manipulation, push/pull, assist procedures and equipment

Handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with or without supervision, adjust to irregular schedules, maintain concentration to detail

Visual acuity to effectively communicate
