Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 5 years of experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

Labor & Delivery unit with Antepartum and High Risk Antepartum care

Facility delivers approximately 100-200 births per month

Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM

On-call, weekend, float, and holiday coverage may be required

Patient ratio of 1:1-2

Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

Active TX or compact RN license required

BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required

AWHONN Intermediate certification required; AWHONN Advanced preferred

Military-issued certifications accepted; AHA preferred, ARC not accepted

Minimum 5 years of Labor & Delivery experience required

Previous travel assignment experience required

Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Experience with high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and vaginal delivery support

Skilled in fetal monitoring (external and internal) and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns

Experience with Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other L&D medication administration

Competency in postpartum care including cesarean section, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage management

State-issued ID required for consideration

SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum phases

Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries including forceps/vacuum extraction

Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation

Support breastfeeding and lactation per baby-friendly protocols

Manage pain control methods including epidural and PCA

Local candidates within 90 miles accepted at a lower pay rate

RTO limited to 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request approved during Nov-Jan

All RTO must be approved by management prior to contract signing
