Quality Engineer I

Group: Eng Materials Group N. Job Family : Quality

Determine customer and regulatory quality requirements and analyze for compatibility with Parker Lord products and processes. Resolve differences internally and/or with customer or regulatory agency.

Provide technical directions to manufacturing, production, and support staff and provide resolution of manufacturing difficulties.

Analyze quality trends and participate in process improvement activities.

Lead/Coordinate internal activities in support of major customer, regulatory, and third-party certification efforts.

Develop and improve quality systems and processes to assure customer satisfaction. Lead quality audits to assess compliance and effectiveness.

Lead major quality projects and programs. Participate with the new product introduction teams to assure all pertinent quality requirements and objectives are understood, communicated and met throughout product lifecycle.

Prepare and maintain detailed quality plans, control plans, inspection/test plans and inspection/test methods for assigned products/materials. Provide direction to affected personnel to ensure complete and timely implementation of the plans.

Participate in design reviews and risk analysis for new products/materials and technologies. Lead portions of large projects as a team member.

BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

• 0-2 years of experience in the quality or manufacturing field.
• A solid working knowledge of aerospace or industrial quality and inspection systems and have knowledge of quality engineering techniques with an emphasis on root cause analysis.
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including a high degree of comfort in presenting advanced quality concepts, plans, and technical data, to various audiences from shop floor personnel to management and customers.
• Possess project management skills in relation to planning, managing, and closing projects.
• Proficient in the use of personal computers and related software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
• Knowledge of SAP quality modules.
• Familiarity with LEAN Manufacturing Principles

ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Engineer, and/or Auditor certification
