This role applies sound engineering principles with consideration for manufacturing feasibility, cost, safety, and operational performance. Responsibilities include designing, analyzing, testing, installing, and supporting mechanically functioning equipment. **Create technical solutions, detailed designs, and assembly drawings.· Read, interpret, and apply information from blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.· Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other technical data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.· Specify system components or direct product modifications to ensure compliance with engineering design and performance specifications.· Investigate equipment failures, diagnose root causes, and recommend corrective actions to maintenance teams.· Perform assigned work independently under minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities. **Education & Experience**· Bachelor’s degree (4-year) in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related technical field required.· A minimum of eight years of experience in manufacturing in an engineering role.· Experience in hygiene, personal care, or roll converting industries is a plus. **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**· Advanced proficiency in **SolidWorks** with high-level functionality.· Demonstrated experience supporting or leading project teams and contributing to project management activities.· Ability to solve complex engineering problems and escalate only the most critical issues.· Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and machine systems.· Willingness and ability to travel up to **10%** as required.· Design/alteration of moderately complex machines, sections, systems or units· Prepare layouts using CAD tools· Evaluation of moderately complex designs; make engineering changes· Prepare BOM, assembly drawings/schematics using CAD for moderately complex equipment· Assist in supporting manufacturing/assembly teams· Support field teams with technical assistance as required· Other duties as assigned*At Barry-Wehmiller we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
