Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our PACU team. The ideal candidate should possess strong ICU experience and a passion for providing compassionate care to patients in recovery.
Position Details
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shifts: Rotating Day/Night, 3x12 hours (07:00-19:00 / 19:30-07:30), with a rotating schedule based on department needs
Weekend Work: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week cycle
Floating: Required within the specialty as needed
Holidays: Required as scheduled
Unit Overview
The Main PACU is a 28-bay unit that provides specialized peri-anesthesia care for patients of all ages and acuity levels, operating 24/7 throughout the year. Our team delivers vigilant pre and post-operative care to both inpatients and outpatients undergoing elective and emergency surgeries.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
Strong ICU experience is essential
Current RN license in the state
ACLS and BLS certifications are required
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse will be expected to:
Provide comprehensive pre and post-operative care to patients
Administer medications and therapies as prescribed
Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in their condition
Perform airway management and care for ventilated patients
Titrate vasopressors and administer blood products as necessary
Ensure fluid resuscitation protocols are followed
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes
Work Environment
This position is based in a dynamic and fast-paced unit with a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics. The role offers various clinical experiences suitable for lifelong learners.
